He was predeceased by: his parents, Druey "Jack" and Dorothy J. Midkiff (McMahon); his brothers, David Charles and Larry Michael Midkiff; his half-sister Eileen Coppola; and his daughter Courtney Badillo.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Archer (Scott); his sister D. Rebecca Nelson (Becky); his children, Richard Z. Midkiff, Jr. (Beth), Kimberly Shepherd (Scott), Cher Klase and Melissa Archer; his grandchildren, Daniel Midkiff, Chrissy Hendrix, Jessica Diaz (Omar), Jeremy Shepherd (Morgan), Joshua Shepherd (Lauren), Jennifer Gurtcheff (Alex), Sean Koch, James Skaggs, Tyler Klase (Shelby), Austin Klase, Jenna Hodges and Owen Hodges; his great grandchildren, Wyatt Koch, Elias Diaz, Ezra Diaz, Samuel Shepherd, Maximus Shepherd, Rory Shepherd, Callen Shepherd, Amelia Shepherd, Brooklynn Hodges, Jack Klase, Waylon Klase and Nora Jane Klase; his aunt Doris; and also, Maude and David.
