He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlin Thompson and Lucille Cullison Thompson; his wife Velma Thompson; his siblings, Melba Hutchinson, Larry, Bill and Darrell Thompson; and his sons, Edward Earl Thompson and Jay Akers.
He is survived by: his children, Tina Bangerter (Fred) of Vincennes, Curtis Akers of Washington, Dee Thompson of Odon, Angela Barber (Chad) and Sonya Thompson (Sara) of Bicknell. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren; and many, many great-grandchildren.
