He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Nelson and Verna Nelson (Ulyat); his wife Vivian A. Nelson; his children, Carolyn Kay Landis and Dennis Wayne Nelson; his daughter-in-law Andrea Nelson; his great grandchild Kelly Owen O'Shields; and his siblings, Freeland Nelson, John Nelson, Bill Nelson and June Madden.
He is survived by: his son Thomas Nelson of Brook; his children-in-law, Robert J. Landis of Las Vegas, Nevada and Catherine Nelson of Seabrook; his stepchildren, Laura Hiner (Brad) and DeWitt Robinson (Kitty); his grandchildren, Cathy Zeider (Steve) of Goodland, Lisa Malone (Dan Henry) of Wolcott, Scott Nelson (Robin) of Brook, Melissa Spina of Las Vegas, Michael Landis (Lorraine) of Las Vegas and Debra Wiggs (Tim) of Seabrook; his stepgranddaughters, Monica Hiner, Maureen Akins and Melanie Robinson; his great grandchildren, Heath Malone (Alina), Cassie Morgan (Brett), Jordan Zeider, Haylee Walker (Mason), Hannah Nelson, Jacob Spina, Kristin Jones (Brian) and Shelby Jones; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jordan Greenholz, Caleb Kraus and Cameron Kraus; and his great great grandchildren, Ellie, Josie Morgan, Hadley, Willow Jones, Presley, Emma Lee Jones and Carter Nasier. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
