He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank R. Schmid and Martha E. Schmid (Hacker); and his sister Claudia Schmid. He is survived by: his children, Richie Schmid II (Patricia) of Brookville, Indiana and Kelly Schmid of Harrison, Ohio; and his siblings, Barbara Nichols of Riley, Shirley Marr of Okeechobee, Marilyn Anderson of Brookville, Indiana, Frances Watson of Brookville, Indiana, Carol Roemer of Brookville, Indiana, Wanda Monroe of Brookville, Indiana, Vickie Cooper of Brookville, Indiana, Katherine Schmid-McLaughlin of Brookville, Indiana, James Schmid of Winterhaven and Michael Schmid of Everton. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
