It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Eckert (Churubusco, Indiana), born in Columbia City, Indiana, who passed away on November 6, 2019, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emory Bittner and Celia Bittner (Gaddis); her former husband Robert E. Mabee; her grandson Timothy Johnson; and her stepson Russell Mabee.
She is survived by: her children, Christina Hensley (Doug) of Albion, Debbie Johnson (Kevin) of Fort Wayne, Rick Kanis (Christy) of Churubusco, Lisa Baker (Ken) of New Haven and Tracie Eckert; and her stepchildren, Bobby Mabee (Genoveva), Bonnetta Davis (Steven) of Fort Wayne and Donita Sherwood. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
