He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis W. Smith and Mary M. Young Smith; and his brothers, William (Bill) and Charles Smith (Bud). He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his daughter Lisa; his son-in-law Alex Brooks of Clinton; his sister Bonnie Ward of Quincy, IL; and his grandchildren, Mila and Adley Brooks.
