He is survived by: his wife Kristin Louise McCarty (Graham); his children, Alex Lee McCarty (Victoria Butler), Elisha Compton (John), Shelby Mace (J. J.), Crucificio "Cross" McCarty (Natalie), Kaileb McCarty and Maura McCarty; his mother Verna Kay Newsome (McCarty); his sibling Kim Johnson (J. R.); and his aunt Jean Johnson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
