He was predeceased by: his parents, Denver Hughes and Verdie Hughes (Barnes); his daughter Pamela Welle; and his sister Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Eletta Hughes; his daughter Anita Dean (Curtis); and his stepchildren, Ronald Stanifer (Barbara), Tim Stanifer (Laurie), Sandra Cook and Michael Stanifer (Michele). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
