It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Fredrick Kessie of Columbia City, Indiana, who passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William H. Kessie and Wilda M. Kessie (Grable); his son Todd Kessie; his great grandchild Colten Graves; and his siblings, Ernest, Robert, Ralph, Paul, Bill, Jack, Dick Kessie, Helen Johnson, Neva Spangler, Betty Gebert and Carol Kessie.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Kessie of Columbia City; his children, Carla Blakley (Tobie) of Columbia City, Deanna Peppler (David) of Columbia City, David Kessie (Jean) of Columbia City and Marcia Polaski (Tom) of Mishawaka, IN; his grandchildren, Jason Blakley (Leslie), Cara Graves (Chad), Tyler Linder, Ryan Peppler (Jamie), Rachel Martin (Adam), Kyle Peppler (Lindsey), Sara Diehl (Luke), Andrew Kessie (Brittany) and Anne Herendeen (Dylan); and his stepgrandchildren, Justin Polaski (Lisa), Alex Polaski, Alaina Polaski and Abbey Polaski. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
