With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Choleta Scher of Columbia City, Indiana, who passed away on December 10, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin I. Early and Ruth C. Early (Peterson). She is survived by: her husband Jeff; her children, Michael P. Scher of New Haven, IN and Miranda J. Castle (Ryan) of Columbia City, IN; her siblings, Marvin Lloyd Early of Valparaiso, IN, Joseph A. Early of Huntington, IN and Debra Smith (James) of Columbia City, IN; her grandchildren, Emersyn and Eloise Castle; and her siblings' children, Jennifer Rockafellow (Cory) and Josh Smith (Allison).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Huntington Catholic School Tuition Fund in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, In.
