She was predeceased by : her parents, Charles Gowen and Carolyn Gowen; and her brother Donald Gowen. She is survived by : her daughters, Julie Sparks (Donnie) and Melanie Nolan (Dan); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Tyler, Cameron, Coleton and Alexandria; and her siblings, Dorothy Gause (James "Jim") and Doug Gowen (Shannon). She is also survived by family and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home (600 Countryside Dr, Columbia City, IN 46725).
