James Leroy Barnett Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Leroy Barnett of Columbia City, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 7, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Barnett and Bernice Barnett (Hull); his great great grandchild Emerson Forster; and his brother-in-law Don Swoverland. He is survived by: his wife Judy Blackford; his daughters, Carol Cox (John) of Auburn, Tammy May (Mike) of Warsaw, Kim Newsom of Columbia City and Denice Spencer (Jason) of Columbia City; his siblings, Gene Barnett (Gladdie) of Coesse, Delores Hazen (Paul) of Columbia City and Lois Swoverland of Warsaw; his stepsister Linda Kulpa (Joe) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and his pet Lady. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be given in memory to Larwill Lions Club or Coesse Community Church.
