He was predeceased by: his parents, O. J. Gaerte and Virginia Gaerte (Trumbull); his siblings, O. J. Gaerte Jr. and Vickie Wolfe; and his son Joe Gaerte.
He is survived by: his wife Tina Gaerte of Columbia City; his children, Christi Gaerte-Rose (Jesse Jr.) of Pierceton and Adam Gaerte of Columbia City; his brothers, Les Gaerte (Marcy) of Columbia City and Richard Gaerte (Sandy) of Fort Wayne; and his sister-in-law Hiwanda Gaerte of Smyrna, TN.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ron's grandchildren for education.
