He was predeceased by: his parents, Meredith Petro and Wilma I. Baugh Petro; his wife Carolyn Merriman; and his siblings, Beverly Howard and Meredith Allen Petro.
He is survived by: his children, Lori Henderson of Hope, Kim Oliphant (Clayton) of Brown County, Melissa Roberts (Randy) of Seymour, Bo Montwheler of Oregon and Brooke Stearns (Corey Pickard) of Florida; his grandchildren, Tyler Henderson (Morgan Whipker), Logan Oliphant, Taylor Henderson, Javan Oliphant, Seth Oliphant, Bentlee Stearns, Dawson Stearns and Ciel Montwheler; his brother John Petro; and his mother-in-law Naomi Merriman of Columbus. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
