He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Newland and Pauline Bishop Newland; his wife Patricia Ann Proctor; and his siblings, Jerry Newland, Shirley Grider, Carol Lewis and Peggy Jean Turnmire.
He is survived by: his son Donald W. Newland, Jr. of Columbus; his grandchildren, Wyatt Newland, Kelly Ann Newland and Kristina Marie Newland; his great grandchild Joseph Allen Newland; and his siblings, Eddie Newland (Connie) of Rock Hill, Ralph Newland (Sue) of Columbus and Patty Schulz (Dennis) of Kissimmee, Florida. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
