She was predeceased by: her parents, John G. Elkins and Nora Taylor Elkins; her siblings, Henrietta Fields, Elizabeth Wilson, Virginia Sowders, Rebecca Shumaker, William "Bill" Elkins and Robert Elkins; her grandchildren, Chyenne Wray and Jeffery Tolbert; and her great grandchildren, Tyterius Wray and Jordan Wray.
She is survived by: her husband Ronnie Merriman; her children, Linda Cook (Henry Hoover) of Elizabethtown, John Tolbert (Debbie) of Elizabethtown and Tim Tolbert of Columbus; and her siblings, Linda Cox (Russell) of Bedford, Jack Elkins (Sharon) of Columbus and Lorenzo Elkins of Bedford. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
