He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence E. Matthews and Dorothy M. Creamer Matthews; and his siblings, Charles Matthews, Erma Norris Beverly Hiser, Geraldine Anderson and Betty Burhrmester.
He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, Melinda Forney (Dennis) of Elizabethtown and Terry Matthews of Columbus; and his sisters, Alice Wagoner of Hoopeston, IL., Rose Watson of Alvin, IL. and Judy Johnson of Danville, IL.. He is also survived by five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
