She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles I. Carmichael and Marie Carmichael; her husband James N. Butler; and her brother Max Carmichael. She is survived by: her children, Karen Hall (Eugene) of Carbondale, Charles Butler (Martha) of Columbus, Kevin Butler of Columbus and Rebecca Weimer (Steve) of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and her grandchildren, Angela Butler of Houston, Christiana Butler of Gilroy, Alexa McGriff (Jarrett) of Atlanta, Georgia, Caley Lambert of Fostoria, Cameron Lambert (Becca) of Murfreesboro and Roman Lambert of North Lauderdale, Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or First United Methodist Church Music Fund.
