He was predeceased by: his siblings, Calvin Richards, Cora Richards, Pauline Throop and Mildred Shoults. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his daughters, Pamela K. Muncy (Todd) of Southport, Michelle R. Hatchett (Rick) of Southport and Terri L. Richards of Southport; his grandchildren, Patrick Muncy (Jessica) of Columbus, Denise K. Muncy of Columbus and John Wesley Hatchett of Columbus; his great grandchild Reece J. Stephens of Columbus; and his sister-in-law Carolyn Richards. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
