With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melissa Greene Hinton Barrix of Columbus, Indiana, born in Decatur, Illinois, who passed away on October 1, 2020 at the age of 39. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Harold, Ruth Greene and Bennie Aldridge; and her father-in-law Charles Barrix Jr.. She is survived by: her parents, Nathan B. Greene and Judy A. Greene (Aldridge) of Columbus; her husband Joel E. Barrix of Columbus; her daughters, Madilyn Hinton of Columbus and Tabitha Barrix of Columbus; her stepdaughter Hailey Barrix of Columbus; her brother Scott Greene (Lauri) of Elwood, Illinois; her grandmother Carol Aldridge of Maroa, Illinois; her mother-in-law Barbara Barrix of Columbus; and her brothers-in-law, Bob Barrix (Lindsey) of Covington, Dr. Scott Barrix (Patricia Ghuman-Barrix) of Columbus and Mike Barrix (Julia) of Battle Creek, Michigan. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
We do ask that visitors follow social distancing guidelines and masks are required once inside the funeral home.
