He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph G. Rutan and Ruth Marie Rutan (Swango); and his siblings, Raymond E. Rutan and Evelyn Hatfield. He is survived by: his wife Katherine (Purtlebaugh); his children, Timothy W. Rutan (Donna) of Edinburgh, Chris W. E. Rutan (Velma) of Columbus and Rallena Jeannie Imlay (James) of Columbus; and his siblings, Marvin Lee Rutan of Columbus, Velma Garries of Columbus and Marjorie Jewell of Columbus.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 2:00 until 6:00 p. m. at the funeral home, but due to the global pandemic, the funeral service will be private.
Memorials may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
