He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivo Gerber and Helen Gerber; and his sister Sally Caligan. He is survived by: his husband Rogelio Panique; his sisters, Sue Gerber, Sharon Krieg (Bill) and Sheila Gerber (Bill Austin); and his nieces and nephews, Hollis Austin, Kevlynn Bradley (Kenny), Roy Caligan (Stacy), Ivo Austin, Loren, Tim and Paul Krieg (Rebecca).

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Indiana University Foundation Society of the Friends of Music of Indiana University.
