It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wendel L. Sweeney of Columbus, Indiana, who passed away on September 24, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Sweeney and Onieda V. Betts Sweeney; his daughter Deana D. Paswater; and his siblings, Cleon Sweeney, Wanda Spears and Norma Bidwell.

He is survived by: his wife Colleen M. Sweeney of Columbus; his children, Dennis Lee Sweeney of Columbus, Deb Cooper (Charlie) of Columbus and Robin Sweeney of Bowling Green, Florida; and his son-in-law Kermit Paswater. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home in memory of Mr. Sweeney to the Columbus Fireman's Cheer Fund or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
