She was predeceased by : her parents, Carl Spalding and Aliene Spalding (Akers); her husband William "Bud" Richmer; and her brother Tommy Spalding. She is survived by : her children, Jeaneva Sumner (Michael) and Danny Spalding; her siblings, Bobby Spalding (Bonnie), Marilyn Courier (Ambrose), George Spalding, Pat Spalding and Betty Atcher (Carl); her grandchildren, Danielle Floyd (Derek), Alyson Cook (Jared), Shelby Spalding and Katelyn Sumner; and her great grandchild Nash Cook.

The family requests that contributions in Shirley's memory be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church-Lanesville.
