He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Mitchell and Lillie Mitchell of Waveland; his wife Helen Sue Grimes; his son Ted; and his brothers, Fred Jr., Kenneth and Dale.
He is survived by: his children, Kevin Mitchell (Judy) of St. Louis, MO and Lyn Taylor (Elijah) of Dyersburg, TN; his grandchildren, Devin Mitchell, Jennifer Hawthorne, Jamie Everman, Michael Lowhorn and Jennifer Teismann; his great grandchildren, Declan, Brynn, Marshall, Braxton, Harley, Emily, Ben and Gabe; and his sister-in-law Naomi Mitchell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews plus great nieces and nephews.
