She was predeceased by: her husband Alfred "Fritz"; her parents, Emory Kosac and Anne Kosac; and her brother James Kosac.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Joanne's name to Crown Point Community Foundation, 115 S. Court St., Crown Point, IN 46307 for the Alfred J. Gruber Senior Social Studies Scholarship or the Wayne Gruber Horticulture Fund.
