He was predeceased by: his mother Gladys Mathis; his wife Patsy K. Brown; and his sister Pat Angelmeyer. He is survived by: his children, Johnny Mathis (Pam) of Westville, Illinois, Paul Mathis (Marina) of Huntley, Illinois, Mike Mathis (Chris) of Lakeworth and Lisa Howard (Shawn) of Williamsport, Indiana; his stepchildren, Greg A. Apple of Covington, Indiana, Linda Smith (Chris) of Perrysville, Indiana, Art Apple (Karen) of Amherst and Cindy March of Crawfordsville, Indiana; and his brother Bob Hardy (Judy) of Orlando, Florida.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
