He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gibson and Dorothy Gibson; his son Jon Gibson; and his brothers, Gary and David Gibson.

He is survived by: his daughter Lisa Gibson; his daughter-in-law Tai Gibson; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Hunter Gibson; and his sister Patricia Gibson (Joellyn Stuckey).
