With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sandra A. Shelby (Dyer, Indiana), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 18, 2020 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orvis Wertz and Ruth Wertz; and her brother Howard Wertz. She is survived by: her husband James Shelby; her children, Nancy Arendt, Melinda Bendle (Kevin) and Daniel Shelby (Jocelyn); her grandchildren, Hope Meierkort, Margaret, Elisabeth Bendle, Sophia, Cailyn, Wesley and Jessie Shelby; her siblings, Dean Wertz (Chris), Linda Trout (Richard), Lowell Wertz (Claudia) and Wayne Wertz (Rene); and her sister-in-law Sandra Schill.
In grateful appreciation for their help and comfort in her time of need, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to William J. Riley Hospice House-Munster, IN.
