He was predeceased by: his mother Elaine Swindler (Fites). He is survived by: his father Ronald Swindler; his wife Margaret "Meg" Golightly; his siblings, Debbie Richards and Jay Swindler; and his siblings' children, Jenna Harrington and Craig Richards.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Faith Mission in Elkhart or Catsnip Etc. in Goshen.
