He was predeceased by: his father David Gilbert, Sr.; and his daughter Casei Jones. He is survived by: his mother Marilyn Jackson; his close friend Jodi Gilbert; and his children, Jason Gilbert (Jackie), Jennifer Maurer (Jason), Kristine Voelkert, Brandi Gilbert, Sarah Gilbert, Rebecca Liggins (Kaine) and David Clark. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to any animal rescue organization or to Bethel Assembly of God.
