He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcus Bowling and Ethel Bowling (Webb); his wife Emma Jean Allen; and his brothers, Ronald Bowling and Donald Bowling.

He is survived by: his sons, Mark Bowling of North Carolina and Randy Bowling of New Paris; and his brother Ricky Bowling of Paintsville, Kentucky.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
