He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Funderburk (Connelly) and William Sr. Funderburk; his daughter Renee M. Funderburk; and his siblings, Donald Funderburk, Betty Jones and Dorothy Schnaare.

He is survived by: his wife Wanda Funderburk; his son Robert G. Funderburk (Gretchen Kalwinski) of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren, Amanda Funderburk, Lunden Johnson and James Williams, Jr.; his great grandchild Tokiyo Funderburk; his brothers, William Funderburk (Sandy) of Cochrane, Charles Funderburk of Elkhart and Michael Funderburk (Tammy) of Shipshewana, IN; and his brother-in-law Casey Jones of Union, MI..
