He was predeceased by: his parents, B. G. Hoogenboom and Lina Belle Hoogenboom (Vance); his stepson Lance Shepherd (Sharon Crawford); and his pets, Big Simon and Little Simon.
He is survived by: his wife Susan L. Shepherd (Chaney); his son Marc Crawford (Amy) of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Olivia and Darin Crawford; his stepson Mike Shepherd (Jacque) of Granger, IN; his stepdaughter-in-law Jamie Shepherd of Edwardsburg, MI; his stepgrandchildren, Alexis Shepherd, Alex Bigler, Brianna Shepherd and Mikayla Shepherd; and his siblings, Vickie Barhydt (Barney) of Millersburg, IN, Cindy Rios (Hector) of Las Vegas, NV and Ron Hoogenboom of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
