Velma Long Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 9, 2020, at the age of 102, Velma Long of Elkhart, Indiana, born in Hartford City, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Mannix and Ethel Mannix (Haney); her husband Herschel C. Long; and her siblings, Marjory Fisher, Thurman Mannix, Martha Fleck and Lois Mannix.

She is survived by: her children, Ronald Long (Sharon "Cook") of Ft. Wayne, IN and Lois J. Stemm (Michael) of Elkhart; her grandchildren, Jennifer Heffernan-Mabee (Scott), Stephanie Scheele (Jason), Matthew Stemm (Brooke) and Nathan Stemm (Jessica); and her great grandchildren, Gavin, Owen, Griffin, Harrison, Emerson, Madden, Lincoln, Addison, Mia, Jack, Dallas and Peter.

Because of the current COVID situation, after careful consideration for their friends and extended family, the family has decided to have a private family celebration.
