He was predeceased by: his parents, Vaden Brizendine and Janece Brizendine (Cour); and his wife Dorothee. He is survived by: his siblings, Corliss, Mike (Marilyn), Steve (late Shirley) and Mace (Amy Fox). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
