He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Fuchs and Alice Fox (Bellamy); his sister Joy Fuchs; his mother-in-law Mary Catherine Doty; and his brother-in-law Jon Doty.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jocelyn Gray and Jaxon Gray; his sister Joni Hansen (Fuchs) of Nashville, IN.; his siblings-in-law, Cynthia Bower (Earle) of Greensboro, NC, Cathy Wides (Phil Griffin) of Greensboro, NC, Millie Doty of Evansville, Tom Doty (Carla) of Newburgh, Chris Doty (Sue) of Evansville and Bill Doty (Brenda) of Haubstadt; and his sibling's children, Joy Stachel (Jason) of Indianapolis, Heather Cutshaw (Danny) and Mike Reising (Janny Dillon).
