He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Henry and Dorthia Hartig (Volkman); his wife Wilma Hartig (Lottes); and his brother Dr. Marvin E. Hartig. He is survived by: his children, Gary W. Hartig of Evansville, IN, Brenda L. Novotny (Al) of Greenfield, IN, Cynthia J. Shelton (Jeff) of Inverness, FL and Julie A. McQueen (Mitch) of Fairfield, OH; and his grandchildren, Jason Novotny (Tracy), Allyson Taylor (RJ), Justin Novotny (Melissa), Tessa Ennis (Phillip), Justin Gourley (Shawn), Garrett Hartig (Melissa), Clinton Hartig, Breana McQueen and Nelson McQueen. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren.
