He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward William and Hazel Wessel (Staub); his wife Barbara Jean Wessel (Parker); and his siblings, Dorothy Charlton (George), Bettie Mustin, Helen Umbach and Robert Wessel.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Ann Carnes (Mark Christian) of Evansville, IN and Eddie M. Wessel (Cindi) of Evansville, IN; his brothers, John Wessel (Diane) of Evansville, IN and Steve Wessel (Janie) of Evansville, IN; his siblings-in-law, Mary Wessel and Gene Mustin; his grandchildren, Brian Wessel (Sheliah), Brooke Beard (Andy) and Justin Carnes (Kat); his great grandchildren, Brendon Smith, Aedon Smith, Hayley Wessel, Amberly Wessel and Liam Wessel; and his friends, Cory Smith and Jenny Powell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
