She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Merta and Laura Merta (Purticer); her husband Roy J. Simpson; her daughter Patricia "Patti" Kinch; and her siblings, Anita Hill (John) and Lester Merta (Loretta).

She is survived by: her son-in-law Wayne Kinch of Evansville, IN..
