He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Happe and Edna Happe; his wife Sylvia Happe (Loeffler); his brother Allen Happe; his sons-in-law, Frank Morgan and Jerry Memmer; and his grandchildren, Daniel Happe, Ryan Happe and Christine Kapfhammer.

He is survived by: his children, Steven Happe (Anna), Syndi Morgan, Dale Happe (Kathy), Beth Memmer and David Happe (Keri); and his grandchildren, Jonathan Happe (Megan), Jennifer Karch (Johnathan), Sean Morgan (Kimberly), Justin Spaulding (Andrea), Christopher Jenkins (Megan), James Happe (Brandi), Oscar Happe and Roman Happe. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
