He was predeceased by: his parents, John Simmons and Ida May Simmons (Taylor); and his wife Beverly "Jean" Simmons (Aufterhaar). He is survived by: his sons, Mark Short, Mike Short (Melissa) and Matt Short of Evansville, IN; his grandchildren, Shaun Short (Amy), Sara Short (Brian Sanders), Johnny Short (Shannon), Chaz Short, Treston Short, Winston Short, Mashae Turi (Mario) and Cassandra Sturgeon (Hunter); and his close friend Sharon Hughes. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
