She is survived by: her son Scot Brown (Holly); her grandchildren, Christopher and Sullivan Brown; her daughter Heather McAtee (Brian); her granddaughters, Kathleen Fritz and Abigail McAtee; and her great grandchild Kayson Weatherly (Abigail).
Memorial contributions may be made to organizations supporting addiction recovery or equestrian programs for youth, two causes that Joan held close to her heart.
