He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Owens (Gray); his son James Owens; his wife Beulah Owens (Heacock); and his siblings, Paul, Harold, Tom, Ray and Genevieve.

He is survived by: his children, Kelly Owens and Joyce Owens; and his brothers, Bill (Dorothy) and Jean (Doris). He is also survived by ten grandkids.
