With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lena Eloise (Kern) Elam of Evansville, Indiana, born in New Harmony, Indiana, who passed away on May 2, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Fonnie and Louise Kern (Crawford); her former husband Calvin Christie; her husband Raymond Arthur "Art" Elam; and her brothers, Harold, Russell and Sanford Kern.

She is survived by: her children, Brenda Simpkins of Evansville, IN, Tina Christie of Evansville, IN, Larry Christie (Cindy) of Newburgh, IN and Dennis Christie of Evansville, IN; her grandchildren, Mike Payne Jr. (Jennifer), Kim Napier (Steve), Jason Christie (Audrey), Jamie Jones (Justin) and Ryan Christie; and her great grandchildren, Chase Christie, Caige Christie and Kyle Napier. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 100 E. Michigan St., Evansville, IN 47711.
