He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Zimmer and Dorothy Jean Zimmer (Wagner); his parents-in-law, Arthur and Louise Kennedy; his siblings-in-law, Jeanne Kessler and James Kennedy; and his nephew Isaac Kessler.

He is survived by: his wife Karen S. Zimmer (Kennedy); his daughters, Natalie Feldhaus (Eric) and Heather Meeler; his grandchildren, Cullen Feldhaus, Emmi Feldhaus, Brady Feldhaus, Tristyn Meeler and Piper Meeler; his great grandchildren, Rylan Meeler and Lucien Meeler; his siblings, Michael Zimmer (Marcia), David Zimmer (Becky), Ann Metz (Don), Janet Savage (Don) and Julia Zimmer; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Timberlake (Terry), Kathy Elpers (Flavien), Christopher Kessler and Judy Kennedy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
