He was predeceased by: his parents, William Spence and Lillie Spence (Radcliffe); his wife Lora Nell Smith; his son-in-law Max Engle; and his siblings, Marguerite Sellers, Dorothy Haisley, Ruth Ann Chapman, Francis Dickerson and William.
He is survived by: his daughter Sheri Engle; his granddaughter Amber Amick (David); his children, Dylan, Dawson, Abigail, Sara Caudell (Aaron), Bristol, Bethany Tinkel (Brandon), Quinn Massey and Leighton Tinkel; his stepgrandson Alix Engle (Kelley); his children, Jett, Gage, Livia, Beau Engle, Josie, Colt and Porter; his sisters, Donna Clock and Roberta Barkdull (Jim); his siblings-in-law, Wilma Brookshire, Janice Smith, Pam Goe and Jack Smith (Celeste); and his friends, Gary, Sue Barkdull, Karen Dailey, Diana Sickman and Chris Crouch.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to Grant United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
