He was predeceased by: his parents, Monna Owens and Richard Colvin; his brothers, Gary and Tim Owens; his brother-in-law Tom May; and his granddaughter Dakota Colvin.

He is survived by: his wife Rachel (Brookshire); his sons, Joe (Elizabeth) and Greg (Megan); his grandchildren, Nick (Morgan), Sydney Piper (Aaron), Holland, Charlie, Jackson, Ben, Harrison, London, Lincoln, Crisiya, Tariya, Eddie, Hudson, Eden and Edison; his great grandchild Genevieve; and his sisters, Vickie May and Paula Owens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mike to Hands of Grace Guatemala.
