He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hammitt and Emma Hammitt (Hensley); his siblings, Marie Rankin Fugate, James Thomas Hammitt and Betty Glass; and his daughter-in-law Tina M. Hammitt.
He is survived by: his children, Rob Hammitt Jr. and Barbara Anderson (Ron); his grandchildren, David Anderson (Maggie) of Topeka, KS, Cayla Duckwall (Gary), Van Buren, Damon Hammitt (Stephanie) and Marion; his great grandchildren, Kiera, Corbin Duckwall and Oliver Kane Hammitt; and his sister Mary Ann Maggard (Samuel).
