He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Barbara Underwood (Winans) and Gerrald Underwood; his wife Vicki (Richards); his daughters, Tisha Southwood and Tara Underwood; his grandchildren, Katlyn (Adam), Lucia Southwood, Scarlet and Toby; his great grandchild Michael of Montana; his brother Mike Underwood; his sister-in-law Jane Underwood of Fairmount; his brother Jim Underwood; and his sister-in-law Elaine Underwood. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) or the American Red Cross.
